Admissions & Enrollment
Applications for admission are available beginning in January of each year and must be submitted to YCHS by the last Friday of February. Interested students and their families must submit the following to be considered for our After School Admissions Program (ASAP):
- Completed Application Form
- Copies of Official Transcripts/ Report Cards for the full year of 6th and 7th grade and the first semester of 8th grade
- Recommendation Form filled out by a 6th, 7th, or 8th grade teacher
- $5.00 application fee
Applications for the upcoming school year are due on the last Friday of February every year. For school year 2025-2026, the applications are due on February 21st, 2025.

Application Process
We invite prospective students to join us for a Come and See day at YCHS. As a challenging college preparatory institution, our application process demands both commitment and time. The YCHS application entails participating in After School Admissions sessions, along with a Summer Session.

The provided form collects Student and Parent information like names, phone numbers, and more. Students will also be asked to answer a question:

TRANSCRIPTS
In addition to the completed application form, you must also obtain copies of Official Transcripts / Report Cards for the full year of 6th and 7th grade and the first semester of 8th grade.
RECOMMENDATION FORM
YCHS is a demanding academic program, we want to ensure students are a good fit academically. This form is to be filled out by a recent (within past 3 years) teacher or principal. Students are assessed on their academic ability but also their worth ethic and behavior.
APPLICATION FEE
There is a $5.00 Application Fee. This fee is due along with the completed application form.
SUBMIT
Submit the completed Application Form along with the required items. Submit by Friday, February 21st to YCHS or the St. Mary’s School Office, or mail to YCHS at PO Box 950 Colonia, Yap, FM 96943.
Late applications will only be considered if space is available.
AFTER SCHOOL ADMISSIONS
Prospective applicant students will be invited to the After School Admissions Program and will come for five total sessions. (The number of sessions may be changed based on the number of students.)
SUMMER SESSION
All conditionally admitted students will be required to successfully complete the Summer Session which will take place in July.

Tuition, Financial Aid, & Scholarships
For those families who would have extreme hardship paying this tuition, limited funds are available from the school for financial aid. Families wishing to apply for this financial aid must fill-out the Financial Aid Application to be submitted by the deadline in July.
In order to complete the Financial Aid Application form, a tax statement must be submitted for each person in the household who has a job (also a signed statement explaining any other additional income must be included). These tax statements (or copies) must be brought to school and turned in for the Financial Aid Application to be considered complete.
Application for financial aid does not guarantee that it will be granted. Many families must make sacrifices in order to pay for tuition. YCHS tries to use its limited funding to help the families who have the greatest need.
If YCHS finds a sponsor to pay the student’s financial aid, then the student will write quarterly update letters to the sponsor, and a copy of the student’s report card will be sent to the sponsor each quarter.

1 Full Year Tuition
The tuition for a full school year, which includes the Summer Session Program, is $800 ($80 USD per month for ten months).
2 Tuition Deadline
The tuition is due on the 15th of each month of the school year. When the 15th falls on a weekend (extended holiday weekends also apply), tuition is due on the following business day (e.g. the latest school day following the weekend).
3 Tuition Late Fee
If for any reason the tuition for a student is late, the family must call the school the ahead of time. All late tuition payments will require an additional $5USD late fee.
4 Tuition Discount
If the entire school years' worth of tuition is paid in full by the September deadline, a 10% discount will be applied to the total tuition of a respective student. Also, certain discounts may be applied to specific students under special circumstances to be determined by the school's administration.
